Clark Construction Company managed this multi-phase project
which included two new buildings, demolition of two county
buildings, and renovating a third building to provide 56,000 s.f. of
courtroom space for Circuit, District, and Probate Courts. This project
consolidated court facilities adjacent to county jail facilities and
provided Livingston County with modern technology and security in
a new Justice Complex. Clark Construction Company received all
bids publicly and self-performed the concrete and carpentry work.
The Judicial Center – Phase I was completed in July, 1999. It is a
22,000 s.f. facility that added 2 courtrooms and offices for the District
Court.
The Judicial Center – Phase II added three additional courtrooms.
Ancillary areas in this 34,000 s.f. facility include large support areas
for offices, lawyer/client consultation areas, holding areas, and 17
restrooms.
Phase III was the 911 Center, completed in the fall of 1999. This
10,000 s.f. facility has stations for five dispatchers to maintain the
center at all times. Emergency back-up generators were installed to
insure continuous operation of the center.
