The new Ingham County Consolidated 911 Dispatch Facility is an 11,500 sq.ft. hardened masonry and concrete structure. The facility was constructed to combine the 911 operation centers of Lansing and East Lansing and serves as a central dispatch for all of Ingham County now. The main call room has 12 dispatch stations with an adjacent divided room with 4 additional call stations that will be used for training or for the adjacent counties of Livingston, Eaton, or Clinton, should they experience an outage at their center.

The building was designed and built to withstand an F-3 tornado and has multiple redundancy systems built in to maintain building function during any type of local emergency. Redundant electrical and generator services, multiple data and communication entrance services, and redundant HVAC systems provide assurance for the County that this facility will remain operational in nearly any local emergency.

Additionally, landscape boulders, retaining walls, berms and pipe bollards were strategically placed around the building to thwart any vehicular access to the building. A security fence surrounds the employee area to provide them with a secure access and an outdoor area to enjoy during their long shifts.
