This 2020 Bond Program consists of renovations and upgrades to 7 existing buildings and construction of a new elementary building. This 3-phase program includes the following projects:
• District-wide safety and security improvements at all Ferndale School District Buildings.
• Ferndale High School & Ferndale Middle School will see improvements touching all areas of the facility: safety; classrooms; arts spaces; athletic fields; as well as building-wide infrastructure like roofing, heating, cooling, and more. In addition, one of the current swimming pools from Ferndale High School will be removed and replaced with a new athletic training facility and fitness center.
• University High School changes will improve school identity and general tech. Some classroom updates, site expansion and a parking lot reconstruction will also take place. In addition, a conference room and a health room will be added alongside a work room and additional storage.
• Tri-County Educational Center will see major exterior restorations, including boiler replacement, updated electrical systems and other improvements.
• Ferndale Early Childhood Center will have major restorations and improvements to the infrastructure, interior finish updates, gym floor, and playground updates.
• Ferndale Lower Elementary will be a new facility with adaptable learning environments, exceptional energy and security integration, and room to accommodate the newly established growth trends.
• Ferndale Upper Elementary School will see significant improvements including a new roof, secure entryways, updated playground, updated bathrooms, as well as the addition of a STEAM Lab.
• Center for Advanced Studies and the Arts will be relocated to the Roosevelt building. Some restorations and room remodels would be required to house the CASA students.
